We have a great career growth opportunity for an electrical utility distribution Manager of Operations & Engineering working for large utility services provider in the Richmond Virginia area.

We have a great career growth opportunity for an electrical utility distribution Manager of Operations & Engineering working for large utility services provider in the Richmond Virginia area.
The Engineering/Operations Manager Responsibilities Include:
- Overall, responsible for managing electrical utility distribution design and construction work
- Review and oversee utility projects from concept to completion, including planning, budgeting, design, materials, permits, safety, customer collaboration, risk management, etc.
- As needed, perform design and project management work
- Manage design and field engineers, technicians, and construction personnel
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- B.S. Degree, Engineering, Technical, Scientific or Equivalent Experience
- Prefer a PMP Certification
- Prefer a P.E. License
- Working knowledge and proficiency with CAD design software tools
- 5+ years of overhead and underground electrical utility design, construction, and engineering experience
Pay Rate: Depending on Experience, Education, Qualifications

John is originally from the Tidewater Virginia area and moved to Georgia for college where he majored in Electronics Engineering Technology. For fifteen years, he worked in television news broadcast engineering where he worked his way into technical project management until a layoff. After a few years operating a small business franchise, he found his way into an engineering and technical recruiting career where he could apply his technical and customer service backgrounds in a new industry for the next fifteen plus years to present day. His education and work experience as a technical project manager provides him unique insight into a variety of roles and success in finding great candidates for his clients. His career in technology, technical management, and technical staffing spans 25+ years.
When John found himself looking for a new opportunity, his search led to him joining the Selectek team in June 2021.
John lives in North Metro Atlanta where he spends his time with his wife and daughter. They enjoy kayaking on area lakes, hiking, bicycling, and all things pets and animals.
