Engineering Manager – Mechanical Team
(Rotating Equipment | Louisville, KY | Travel Required)

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers focused on the design, analysis, and improvement of heavy industrial rotating equipment. This role will oversee the mechanical engineering department, drive technical excellence, and support field operations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of mechanical engineers and designers (8–10 direct reports).

  • Oversee engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Drive collaboration between engineering, field service, fabrication, and sales teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance on equipment failure analysis, component design, and system improvements.

  • Implement best practices in design, documentation, and project management.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operations.

  • Lead recruitment, training, and team-building efforts to foster technical growth and a positive, high-performance culture.

  • Manage and coordinate activities at both the Louisville, KY and Salt Lake City, UT sites, including regular travel between locations to ensure alignment and consistency.

  • Travel to client sites (estimated 20–30%) to support project execution, team coordination, and customer engagement.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, and FEA analysis software.

  • Experience with rotating equipment (rotary dryers, rotary kilns, grinding mills, or similar machinery).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Heavy industrial experience is a plus.
