Job Description

We have an exciting dual role in the Richmond, VA area, for a driven engineer looking for a career in the utility industry. The Field Design Technician will be tasked with performing work as a field technician to gather critical data from utility sites as well as assisting with the drafting and updating of drawings with the new field information gathered.

The Field Technician portion of the role will provide various field technical services for the inspection, audits, joint use permitting and attachments, damage assessment, and safety of electric distribution facilities This role will work in and around the greater metro Richmond Virginia area. The design portion of the role will be approximately 50% of the time making necessary adjustments using proprietary CAD software.

Required:
  • Engineering degree preferably in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • CAD experience (school training)
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Interest in both working in the field gathering data and working to complete design drawings of data gathered.

Must have reliable transportation for field work (time and mileage paid) and be able to work in the Richmond, VA office for the design portion of the job.

Pay-$24-$26/hr
