We have an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer in the Jacksonville, FL area. 

Base salary is relevant to experience, education and certifications.

You are expected to be available for a minimum of 40 hours per week and be able to work fairly independently.

Job description:
Responsibility — Electrical Design, 35%
  • Perform sketches or mark-up existing drawings as required to communicate design intent.
  • Perform field work, inspecting plant conditions, verifying existing plant conditions, Routing tray, conduit or cable layout new equipment for most efficient use of space and resources
  • Preliminary design for installation motors, instruments and controls
  • Perform engineering calculations as required
  • Coordinate with other disciplines as required to produce projects with the lowest total installed cost possible
  • Check design work for accuracy and ensure compliance with project requirements
  •  Design loop sheets, elementaries, system architecture, and other wiring diagrams  
Responsibility — Project Management 50% / Business Development 15%
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients
  • Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients as needed.
  • Communicate scope needs to designers or other engineers
  • Obtain quotes for engineering, equipment, material, and services
  • Write client's scope document
  • Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings and evaluate bids
  • Write material requests and contract requisitions
  • Manage procurement and construction activities
  • Coordinate project safety, timing, and other issues
  • Lead checkout and startup activities
  • Control documents generated during the course of the project.
  • Issue documents to client for permanent storage.
  • Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients as needed.
  • Review project scopes for inclusion of reliability expectations as defined by client.
  • When an opportunity occurs, work with the client to determine the scope.
     
Required:
  • Engineering Degree
  • EIT (With ability to obtain P.E. within 18 months of employment)
  • Motor Controls
  • CAD Proficiency
  • 480V and 2300V/4160V single lines
  • 480V and 2300V/4160V starter elementaries
  • 480V VFDs
  • Basic breaker coordination
  • Detailed power panel schedules
  • Power plans
  • Grounding system design and grounding plans
  • Lighting system design and lighting plans
  • Electrical room layouts
  • Electrical  equipment specifications
  • Industrial cable sizing, voltage drop calculations and general cable list development
Preferred:
  • P.E.
  • Instrument & I/O list development
  • Instrument specifications
  • Instrument loop sheet development
  • PLC & DCS connection diagram development
  • Light I/O panel design experience
