We have an exciting opportunity with our client for a Manage of Engineering and Operations role in the utility distribution field outside of Richmond, Virginia. This role will involve a well-established firm expanding its reach in the Virginia market. The role will focus on overseeing the engineering distribution work for overhead and undergrounding engineering and distribution construction services.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills. They will possess a proven track record managing team members performing engineering and construction services primarily for overhead and underground distribution construction activities. He/she will report to the Regional Vice President.
Candidates should have the following attributes:
  • The ability to manage project design and construction for Mid-Atlantic IOUs, including an in-depth understanding of utility engineering technical requirements, tools, methods, and OH/UG construction practices related to distribution facilities.
  • Ability to manage 3-10 design field engineers/techs and 20-60 distribution construction personnel, including Groundmen through Supervisors.
  • Have a working knowledge of the latest CAD and IOU design tools and customer standards.
  • Proven ability to Review and manage projects from concept to construction package to completion, including planning and budgeting design, resources, time, materials, delays, permits, safety, training, quality control, utility customer interaction, cleanup, risk mitigation, cleanup, completion, and billing.
  • Proven success in maintaining and improving performance and efficiency through process analysis and improvement, including partnering initiatives to effectively manage the company’s resources.
  • Must demonstrate and understand the importance of safety, training, and quality control in the industry and be a strong champion of the company’s safety and training programs.
Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil)
  • PMP Certification highly preferred or proven years of experience
  • 5 plus years managing power distribution and field engineers.
  • Understanding of CAD and Design Tools
Preferred:
  • Virginia PE Highly Preferred
Salary Range:
  • 100K/yr. - $130K/yr.
Shift and Hours:
  • Monday- Friday (Flex Time)
  • 8 AM- 5 PM
  • Work from Home (yes)
