Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Smyrna, GA 30082
Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, Core Hours 9 AM--4 PM (Start time flexible between 7--9 AM)
Work Environment: Onsite, Business Casual Attire

About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support the technical, logistical, and administrative aspects of electrical construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, field teams, and vendors to coordinate design, ensure timely installations, and integrate systems while maintaining industry compliance, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and coordinating electrical construction projects from design through completion.
  • Review and interpret electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop and coordinate installation details, including shop drawings.
  • Oversee procurement planning, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and field teams to facilitate project execution.
  • Conduct site walkthroughs to monitor progress and ensure quality.
  • Address technical challenges and provide solutions for on-site electrical installation issues.
  • Maintain and organize project documentation (Drawings, Specifications, RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Closeout Documents, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
  • Provide field leadership teams with essential project execution information.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduation experience in electrical construction project engineering.
  • Preferred background: Experience with an Electrical Contracting Firm (e.g., Mayberry Electrical, Cleveland Electric, Eckardt Electric, or Inglett & Stubbs - former employees preferred).
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Procore software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

With over 80 years in the electrical contracting industry, our client specializes in electrical distribution, mission-critical power, lighting systems and controls, security and access control systems, fire alarms, voice and data systems, building automation, smart buildings, IoT integration, AV, and fiber optics. Their projects range from $100-200 million, spanning commercial and industrial sectors, with clients such as Coca-Cola, Facebook, Google, and Microsoft.

Additional Job Details
  • Sponsorship: Not available. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Compensation: ~ +/- $31.25 - $36.00/hr (based on experience and qualifications).
  • Pay Method: Salary upon direct hire (Bonus eligible).
  • Overtime: As needed.
  • Travel: None.
  • Work from Home: Not available.
  • Background Check: Required (Felonies may disqualify candidates due to client requirements).
  • Drug Screen: 5-Panel.
