Salary: $160,000–$170,000/year
A fast-growing engineering group is seeking an Electrical Engineering Department Manager to lead their industrial design team and shape the future of their electrical engineering practice. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned PE who thrives in consulting, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about technical excellence and client success.
What You’ll Do
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of electrical engineers and designers
• Serve as the technical authority on industrial electrical projects
• Oversee full project lifecycle—from concept through construction
• Drive client relationships, business development, and project pursuit
• Guide development of electrical design packages (15kV–480V systems, MCCs, VFDs, substations, grounding, lighting, single-line diagrams, arc flash studies, etc.)
• Ensure QA/QC compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and industry codes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide construction/field support
What You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
• 15+ years of industrial electrical design experience
• 5+ years leadership or project management experience
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience in power, energy, biofuels, oil & gas, pulp & paper, or similar process industries
• Proficiency with ETAP, AutoCAD, NavisWorks/BIM360 preferred
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Entrepreneurial drive and a client-first mindset

• Schedule: M–F, 8–5 (flexible)
• On-site: 4 days/week; Fridays WFH
• Travel: Occasional
• Overtime: Occasional based on project deadlines
