About the Opportunity
You will lead and manage a developing team (initially 2–3 engineers/designers, with plans for department expansion), serve as a technical authority, and play a key role in both project execution and client engagement. This role offers the chance to shape department culture, refine engineering processes, and contribute directly to business development in a company known for its client-first, employee-owner environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lighting and grounding systems.
  • Process control loop sheets, cable tray routing, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Short Circuit and Arc Flash analysis.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and electrical codes/standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC).
  • Support field assessments, site visits, and construction-phase services.
  • Cultivate client relationships and contribute to business development and proposal efforts.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, and best practices across the department.
  • Assist with recruitment, development, and retention of top engineering talent.
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
    • 15+ years of progressive experience in industrial electrical design.
    • 5+ years of leadership and/or project management experience.
    • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License.
    • Proven experience leading engineering teams, mentoring staff, and managing client relationships.
    • Background in power, energy, biofuels, oil & gas, pulp & paper, or related process industries.
    • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and client presentation.
    • Solid project management capabilities including budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a client-first, growth-oriented approach.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD, NavisWorks (BIM 360).
    • Experience with MEP projects is also acceptable, especially with industrial crossover.

    Why This Role Stands Out
    • Join a respected multi-disciplinary engineering organization known for innovation and client dedication.
    • Influence the growth and direction of a developing department.
    • Work on diverse, complex projects across industrial and process-driven markets.
