Location: Smyrna, GA 30082
Employment Type: 6-Month Temp-to-Direct (TTD)
Pay Range: $31.25 - $36.00/hr (Higher for more experience, up to $43/hr)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Core Hours 9 AM - 4 PM (Flexible start between 7-9 AM)
Position Overview:
We have an immediate need for an Electrical Design Engineer to support project engineers with electrical power and lighting design for large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Revit and able to assist in design, modeling, and short circuit coordination studies. This role provides an opportunity for growth, eventually allowing the engineer to take on project engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Model electrical systems and perform short circuit and coordination studies using SKM Power Tools (training provided if needed).
  • Develop 3D models in Revit, ensuring compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Write macros in Excel and JavaScript to improve efficiency in repetitive tasks.
  • Prepare and distribute engineering reports to clients.
  • Print large-scale drawings for project managers and field teams.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all design work.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or BSEET) required.
  • 2+ years of electrical design experience for commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Revit proficiency is essential (Experience in building Revit families is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of power and lighting design principles.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Sponsorship is not available).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SKM Power Tools.
  • Familiarity with electrical distribution, mission-critical power, lighting controls, security systems, fire alarms, building automation, AV, and IoT integration.
  • Experience working in an electrical contracting environment.

  • Established electrical contractor with 80+ years in business, specializing in large commercial and industrial projects.
  • Projects range from $100M - $200M, working with clients like Coca-Cola, Facebook, Google, and Microsoft.
  • Strong focus on power and lighting design and installation for commercial buildings.
