Job Description
We are hiring a Detailing Manager for our client located in Sterling, VA. We are looking for someone who will oversee staff and projects within the detailing department. Requirements:
- Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise multiple team members.
- Must know wood fabrication techniques.
- Experience with Museum Exhibit/ Electro-Mechanical Interactive interactives,
- Knowledge of CNC programming and machining operations would be helpful in “G Code”.
- Must have knowledge of parts assembly and construction for woodworking, metal fabrication, laminating, painting, graphic production, audio-visual, and electrical installations.
- Must be computer literate and proficient with AutoCAD or similar computer drawing software. Solidworks, Revit, Fusion 360)
- Must be able to detail and supervise Staff Drawings.
- Must be detail-oriented and quality-conscious.
- Must ensure that the Project Manager and Fabrication team are provided with any revised drawings promptly “Red Lines”.
- Ensures that all projects are introduced to the detailing department during the project download from Business Development and that the lead project detailer has read and understands the entire RFP, specifications, and the proposal generated by Business Development and has been provided with the estimate and a detailed explanation of how it was developed.
- Ensures that all detail and FA drawings are produced; clarify the scope of work for the project, are standardized, in compliance with code, and on schedule, adhering to costs and budgets specified in the estimate.
- Ensures that the project detailer participates in all production kickoff meetings to present drawings before production.
- Travel for site visits, field dimensions, download meetings, etc. as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring all scheduled tasks are completed on time by all staff members.
- Authority to manipulate staff assignments as required to meet all specific deadlines.
- Authority to require subordinates to work additional hours as required to meet specific deadlines.
- Interfaces with other company departments regarding standardizing detail drawings.
- Manage and supervise 3 detailers.
- During high-volume demand utilize subcontracted detailers to assist capacity needs to meet deadlines.
