Controls Field Technician
(Southwest Greater Madison, WI)

A growing industrial automation consulting company has an immediate need for Controls Field Technician to be based out of their Greater Madison Wisconsin facility.

The Controls Field Technician Responsibilities Include:
* Overall, provide field support, troubleshooting, repairs, programming, and support of installation, commissioning, testing, and startup for a variety of industrial control systems, robotics, vision systems, etc.
* Troubleshoot electrical systems, mechanical systems, PLCs, robotics systems, HMIs, and vision systems hardware and software
* Support installation of equipment and equipment startup at customer sites
* Perform revisions/redlines of electrical and mechanical drawings and documentation
* Backup and manage machine systems software and data
* Collaborate with teams leads, customers, and vendors to perform duties effectively and professionally

* A.S. Degree/Diploma or Vocational-Technical School or Equivalent Experience
* Working knowledge and proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, associated software, hardware, wiring, and configurations
* 2+ years of industrial control systems, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and vision systems support, programming, troubleshooting, configuration, and installations
* Ability to read, interpret, and redline drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
* Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems and perform basic mechanical adjustments as needed
* Ability to travel up to 75% U.S. Domestic

John is originally from the Tidewater Virginia area and moved to Georgia for college where he majored in Electronics Engineering Technology.  For fifteen years, he worked in television news broadcast engineering where he worked his way into technical project management until a layoff.  After a few years operating a small business franchise, he found his way into an engineering and technical recruiting career where he could apply his technical and customer service backgrounds in a new industry for the next fifteen plus years to present day.  His education and work experience as a technical project manager provides him unique insight into a variety of roles and success in finding great candidates for his clients.  His career in technology, technical management, and technical staffing spans 25+ years.

When John found himself looking for a new opportunity, his search led to him joining the Selectek team in June 2021.

John lives in North Metro Atlanta where he spends his time with his wife and daughter.  They enjoy kayaking on area lakes, hiking, bicycling, and all things pets and animals.
