Job Description
Immediate opening for an electrical controls engineer in Northern, AL.

Job Summary:
An Electrical Engineer responsible for specifying electrical control schemes, PLC and HMI Programming, commissioning, installing, and troubleshooting of both new and existing automated material handling systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Electrical Drawings
- Create electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Generate and maintain bills of material on engineering drawings.
- Assign drawing numbers and descriptions in accordance with company standards.
- Read, interpret, and apply company and national safety standards to ensure compliance.
- Effectively communicate all above requirements to shop fabrication personnel and electricians.
- Electrical Design and Engineering
- Design and develop all aspects of electrical controls systems on the in-house built material handling equipment.
- Programming and commissioning of PLC and HMI bases hardware and software-controlled material handling equipment.
- Prepares electrical scopes of work and evaluates subcontractor quotes.
- Identify and select components and materials needed for equipment.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing techniques to design readily manufacturable parts and systems.
- Research and analyze customer design requirements and specifications to evaluate feasibility and costs.
- Contribute to design standards and support design reuse.
- Travel to customer facilities to perform installation and commissioning of material handling systems and equipment.
- Investigate equipment failures to diagnose root cause and make recommendations for repairs.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline. (Preferred)
- Experience in the design of material handling and conveying equipment is (Preferred).
- Programming, design, or integration of Robotic or SCADA Equipment will also be considered.
- 4+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- AutoCAD Electrical
- PLC/HMI programming software
- Microsoft Office suite
Location: Gadsden, AL
Duration: Temp-to-hire
Pay: $24-$48/hr.
