Our client is looking to bring on an Electrical Engineer to work with their industrial automation team. The Controls engineer will collaborate with the design team and customers to develop automation and control system designs from concept to manufacture to installation and final commissioning.
-Design controls systems and components that meet needs and requirements of design
specifications and manufacturing processes
-Analyze controls and automation to implement changes to utilize current technologies
and optimize performance.
-Evaluate final designs for overall performance, reliability and safety.
-Alter and modify existing designs to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions.
-Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems.
-Oversee support staff to manage design changes, engineering documentation and data
entry in to product database.
-Perform job-cost analysis and estimate budgets and scope of projects for proposals.
-Develop project documentation and technical manuals for customer operations and
-Support system installation, commissioning and operations/maintenance training at
-Support customers and field service technicians by answering technical questions and
-Proven working experience of 3 plus years industrial in automation
-Proficient in programming for industrial automation using Rockwell/Siemens
development software such as Studio5000, Factory Talk, Siemens Step 7, and TIA
-Working knowledge of application, configuration, programming and commissioning of
control system components such as A-B Guardlogix, Control/Compact Logix PLC’ s,
Point i/o, PanelviewPlus HMI’ s, Powerflex VFD’ s, Kinetix Servos, Siemens S7-300
PLC’ s, Siemens ComfortPanel HMI’ s.
-Good understanding and experience with integrating safety hardware and software
including A-B’ s Integrated Safety over Ethernet.
-Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (AutoCAD)
Experience with utilizing Excel or other engineering software for mathematical computing
-Fundamental understanding of the machine risk assessment process and the design
requirements for industrial automation in compliance with current industry SIL, PL and
TUV safety design standards.
-Working knowledge of electrical design standards and implementation including UL
508A, UL specification and compliance for certification, NEC and NFPA79.
-Experience with complete control system design including development of panel
assemblies, power distribution, single-line diagrams and electrical schematics,
interconnect field wiring diagrams and cable schedules for industrial equipment and
