Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead their Accounting Group in the Atlanta market. This position supports the North American sales organization and reports to both the Managing Director and the internationally based Group Controller. The primary responsibilities include maintaining daily records of cash flow, processing customer invoices, and keeping accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) up to date for the North American sales office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Month End Closing:
- Approve month-end journal entries.
- Prepare month-end account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements in Microsoft Dynamics Navision and Cognos.
- Prepare additional financial schedules at each quarter end and year end.
- Prepare KPI calculations.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting procedures.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging.
- Monitor inventory.
Audits and Compliance:
- Manage annual audit engagement by an external audit firm.
- Manage periodic internal audit engagements.
- Oversee the preparation of annual tax returns by an outside accounting firm.
- Maintain banking relationships.
- Enter wires and ACH payments.
- Ensure compliance with SEC regulations.
Payroll and Employee Benefits:
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll.
- Calculate bonuses.
- Administer the credit card program.
- Help administer PPO-based 401(k) plan, health insurance plans, and other employee benefits.
Supervisory Duties:
- Supervise two to three employees.
Financial Planning:
- Prepare monthly income statement forecast.
- Prepare the annual budget.
- Coordinate annual business insurance renewal.

Key Competencies:

Advanced accounting knowledge at a managerial level or above.
Proficiency with Navision or ERP systems.
Knowledge of customs and IEAT rules.
Familiarity with tax and BOI regulations.
Understanding of SEC regulations.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a recognized institution.
7+ years of experience as a Controller.
Strong knowledge of costing, taxation, BOI regulations, and SEC regulations.
Proficiency in ERP systems (Navision preferred).
Experience in a managerial role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA.
CPA License.
Extensive Navision experience.

Salary:

$135,000 plus DOE
