Selectek has a client with an exciting work from home opportunity for a Construction Manager with retail project experience. The Construction Manager works cross-functionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, managing new store projects, and existing store renovations from initial deal negotiation to site analysis through construction and ultimately handing off to client Operations team. It will be important that this individual is detail oriented and has a professional demeanor to communicate effectively with business partners at every level.

Responsibilities:

• Work with technical and non-technical business owners/partners to deliver results
• Manage multiple retail/new/renovation projects and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners including real estate managers, architects & engineers, operators, contractors and vendors
• Evaluate site feasibility including customer, delivery access and general prototype program requirements
• Create construction estimates for capital requests, and other planning efforts. Create and track project budgets from initial site evaluation through project close out
• Responsible for approval of developer/landlord building envelope delivery and schedule
• Review and approve building plans. Clarify drawings and scope between shell drawings and tenant plans
• Establish effective relationships along with an understanding of municipalities permit process & schedules.
• Lead weekly meetings to keep all partners aligned on scope, schedule, permitting and budget.
• Responsible for on-site supervision during the construction process to include management of General Contractors, and Owner vendors.
• Deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Participate in the design development process to collaborate and value engineer construction methods to reduce time and cost.
• Manage change order negotiations and contract compliance.
• Ensure contractor compliance safety/OSHA requirements are met on all sites to minimize risk.
• Travel throughout North America approximately 50%

Required:
  • BA/BS Degree from accredited university
  • 6+ years of experience in retail construction management (as owner’s rep)
  • Strong PM experience and preconstruction/construction experience
  • General knowledge of building codes

Preferred:
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Sales Force, Procore and similar real estate, project, and portfolio management tools

Sponsorship: No
Pay range: $29/hour - $47/hour ($60,000 - $98,000 – will not exceed $100,000 annual salary due to above mentioned benefits)
Term of assignment: 6 months temp to direct
Pay method when direct: Salary, but they will pay straight time for any OT work done
Location of job: Knoxville, TN area preferred
Hours and shift: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM but able to offer flex start times from 6AM - 9AM
Work from home/remote: Yes
Overtime expected: When needed
Travel: Up to 50% could be across the USA but focus of the role will be in TN and OH
Work attire: Casual; No T Shirts; Jeans and a golf shirt/polo style is typical

Lizzie is originally from a small town in South Georgia where she grew up on a farm. She then moved to the “big city” of Athens to attend The University of Georgia where she received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication. The courses she took cultivated her desire to connect with people and help others. This path led her to a sales and recruiting job with a company in Atlanta that took her to Pittsburgh and then back to Atlanta. Although she enjoyed the competitiveness of sales, recruiting was her passion. For the next three years, Lizzie honed her recruiting skills while working for a light industrial/manufacturing staffing company in Marietta, GA.

Lizzie joined Selectek in March of 2021. She brought with her a cumulative of nearly 9 years of recruiting experience. Her strong background and knowledge of recruiting gave her a great base for learning the ins and outs of engineering and architecture.

In her spare time, Lizzie spends time with her dogs (Jax, Tuck, and Birdie) and cat (Luna). She also enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs football team and visiting local wineries. She enjoys going on trips with her husband, Philip, and playing in a competitive cornhole league with him.
