We have an immediate need for a Construction Site Manager.  This role is within the company's  EPC Division. This position is considered an “on site” role with daily activities supporting projects during the construction phase. All Site Managers carry the responsibility to represent the company well, to ensure the safe completion of the project in a high-quality manner and within budget. The job duties may be increased or decreased for specific assignments due to the nature of the work being performed.   



Required:
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience
  • Construction Management Skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • Problem Solving/Analytical Skills
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Knowledge of Power Systems (Substation, EPC, or Utility experience is highly preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand the company's Safety Manual
  • Complete and obtain 30-hour OSHA training certification

Job Details:
 
  • Ensure the project schedule is being maintained; assist the Project Manager with changes necessary.
  • Understand and able to explain project scope of work
  • Understanding of the construction process
  • Keep Project Manager informed at all times
    • Utilize email, phone and text properly          
    • Don’t commit to items/terms/agreements that are the responsibility of the Project Manager
  • Hold subcontractors accountable
    • Read, understand and follow contracts terms
    • Resolve any issues/concerns encountered promptly as they are known.
    • Involve Project Manager if issues/concerns arise
    • Ensure that the amount of work completed is proportionate to progress billing
    • Inspect all work with the responsibility for the QA/QC for the project.
      • Expect/demand 100% completion of each task by subcontractors for quality and compliance to the contract/drawings.
  • Hold all parties accountable
    • Subcontractors
    • Contract owners
    • Utility providers
    • Vendors
  • Review drawings/plans, if uncertain ask questions
    • Ensure all parties are working from current drawings
    • Maintain a “Current Drawing List”
    • Maintain a red line set of drawings
      • Return and review with Project Manager at end of project
  • Complete daily paperwork in a timely manner
    • Daily Safety Meeting/JSA/JHA
    • Daily Attendance Report
    • Daily Construction Report
    • Other QA/QC reporting
Safety
Responsible to ensure a safe working environment, practices, and documentation of same.
  • Constantly inspect site and those working for safety concerns
    • Proper tool usage, material handling and application for each
    • Proper usage of equipment – man lifts, forklifts, skid steers, trucks & etc.
  • Ensure a clean job site is maintained
  • Attend and hold site Safety Meetings; also attend meetings being conducted by Subcontractors as well as Owners when necessary.

Financial/Budget Responsibilities
The Site Manager has fiduciary responsibility for the project and the company.
  • Identify cost issues on the project as soon as possible; avoiding cost increases if possible.
  • Communicate to Project Mgr. possible changes in cost to the owner, or cost changes coming from subcontractors to Silvey EPC.
  • Make wise choices when purchasing materials
  • Inventory/material management
    • Inventory all material as received
    • Ensure materials are secure(inventory) against damage, theft and/or loss
    • Maintain packing slip book and upload packing slips to T Drive
    • Look ahead to Ensure proper material and quantity on hand before task begins
    • Ensure material is being utilized per plan and design
  • Utilizing company credit cards
    • Maintain copies of all credit card receipts
    • Shop wisely for quality and price relationship
    • Return unused items for credit
  • Properly maintain company vehicles and company equipment
    • When possible, schedule repairs/maintenance at company's shop
    • Return all unused materials to EPC
