Construction Inspector

Job Description

Selectek is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our team and provide on-site inspection services for infrastructure projects related to water and sewer utilities, wastewater treatment plants, water tanks, and civil site work. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant inspection or construction supervision experience, a strong understanding of utility and treatment systems, and the ability to travel regularly within the region.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site inspections to ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Act as the engineer’s field representative, monitoring work progress, quality, and adherence to schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and owners to coordinate work and report issues.
  • Maintain detailed daily inspection logs and submit regular reports to the engineer and/or owner.
  • Document field activities with photographs and as-built markups on project drawings.
  • Review contractor submittals including shop drawings and product data for compliance with contract documents.
  • Inspect and document progress on wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer lines, and water storage tanks.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering inspection or construction supervision, with a focus on water and sewer utilities and treatment facilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and technical drawings.
  • Erosion & Sediment (E&S) Control Level 1A Certification (must possess or obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across GA and SC.
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience inspecting wastewater treatment plants, water tanks, and related infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal construction and environmental regulations.
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $30.00
Term: 6-month temp to perm
