Civil Project Engineer - Contract-to-Hire Opportunity in Cincinnati, OH
We are excited to offer a contract-to-hire opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer with a leading Engineering Firm in Cincinnati, OH. In this role, you will manage land development, infrastructure design, and prepare construction documents for various projects including roads, parking areas, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, utilities (water mains, sanitary sewers), sediment and erosion control, and outline specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in and assist with business development activities as appropriate.
- Participate in organizations beneficial to the company’s interests.
- Prepare and understand contractual agreements with clients.
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
- Develop schematic design information.
- Ensure accuracy of written work submitted to clients.
- Incorporate schematic design concepts into construction documents with the project team.
- Coordinate with other design professionals.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
- Oversee staff activities to meet project goals for budget, schedule, and quality.
- Produce drawings and sketches for drafters.
- Direct technicians in converting designs to working drawings.
- Select and edit project details and specification sections.
- Act as liaison with reviewing agencies.
- Maintain client contact during and after the project.
- Perform engineering calculations for design.
- Use computer programs and spreadsheets for analysis and presentations.
- Provide daily guidance and respond to questions from the project team.
- Quickly identify and solve problems with input from group leaders.
- Ensure plans’ accuracy and quality.
- Ensure conformity with company production and design standards.
- Develop technical skills of project team members.
- Attend construction meetings and produce site observation reports.
- Prepare and review invoices.
- Assist in collecting past due accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience (all levels of engineers will be considered)
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with Civil 3D (unless PE status)
- Experience in designing single-family subdivisions, apartments, and commercial developments
- EIT or PE license
