Job Description

Selectek has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our client’s growing Land Development team. This role is ideal for an ambitious engineer who has mastered the fundamentals of site civil design and is ready to take on greater technical responsibility.
You will work closely with Senior Professional Engineers to lead the technical production of site plans, perform complex engineering calculations, and gain exposure to client and regulatory agency coordination. This position offers strong mentorship, hands-on project involvement, and a clear path for professional growth toward licensure.

Key Responsibilities
Advanced Design & Modeling
  • Lead the technical production of site construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Create and manage dynamic surfaces, alignments, pipe networks, and complex grading plans.
Hydrology & Hydraulics
  • Prepare drainage and stormwater management reports.
  • Design detention and retention systems and water quality features using HydroCAD or similar modeling software.
Utility Infrastructure Design
  • Design and profile water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems.
  • Ensure compliance with municipal standards and utility provider requirements.
Permitting & Agency Coordination
  • Assist with the entitlement and permitting process.
  • Prepare written responses to agency review comments (“redlines”).
  • Participate in meetings with city and county reviewers as needed.
Project Management Support
  • Assist with tracking project budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants, including surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and environmental teams.
  • Support proposal preparation and project documentation.
Construction Administration
  • Review shop drawings and contractor submittals.
  • Perform occasional site visits to verify construction compliance with approved plans.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in land development or site civil engineering.
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, specifically:
    • Surfaces
    • Alignments
    • Pipe networks
  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HydroCAD or similar stormwater modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with local municipal permitting processes.
  • Interest in long-term career growth toward PE licensure.
Pay: $70,000 - $115,000
