Civil Engineer – Water & Wastewater (Pump Station Design)
Location: Chattanooga, TN

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Civil Engineer to lead water and wastewater engineering projects with a strong focus on the design of sanitary pump stations and related infrastructure. This role offers the chance to take ownership of specialized projects, build out a technical team, and help expand market presence in the region.

The ideal candidate is both a strong designer and a relationship-builder—someone who can combine technical expertise with the ability to connect with city officials, clients, and stakeholders to drive business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Design: Design and oversee construction of wastewater and water pumping stations, storm tanks, and distribution networks.
  • Technical Analysis: Perform hydrological and hydraulic analyses using simulation software to model water flow and optimize system efficiency.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all systems comply with environmental regulations and standards, protecting public health and the environment.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from concept through completion, including developing work plans, overseeing budgets, and coordinating with contractors and agencies.
  • Data Management & Modeling: Analyze and model water usage data to forecast demand and manage resources effectively.
  • Client Engagement & Networking: Build relationships with local municipalities, city officials, and industry partners to support workload growth and future projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required)
  • 10+ years of water/wastewater design experience
  • Extensive expertise in Sanitary Pump Station Design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with CAD design tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support business development efforts in addition to technical work
