Selectek is seeking an experienced Civil Drafter for a partnering company near Birmingham, Alabama. This firm focuses on residential and commercial developments, and potential candidates will be heavily involved in land and site development.
Employment Type: Temp to Perm
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Expected Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday. Hybrid work option available once candidate has completed onboarding and orientation process.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of design experience emphasizing residential developments, small-to-medium commercial sites, or institutional campus improvements
- Associate’s degree in CAD Drafting/Engineering Technology (experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
- Experience with analysis, design, and construction management of land development
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation.
Job Duties:
- Prepare 2D drawings for contract documents and 3D models to demonstrate more complex features or structures
- Produce graphics for engineering reports and presentations
- Designs could include layout, grading, storm drainage network design, erosion control, road networks, and utility design/integration
- Perform field inspections as necessary
- Work with projects from concept through completed construction
- Mentor other technicians on design procedures and standards
- Help maintain CAD design standards and workflows for the company
