Selectek has an immediate need for a Civil Design Engineer in the Greensboro, NC area. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and estimated to go direct within 6 months. 

Job description:
  • Design of commercial land development projects.
  • Perform all aspects of site design including site layout, number crunching, calculations for grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management and erosion and sedimentation control projects.
  • Work with clients and team members on all aspects of a project – schematic design through construction administration.
Required:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering 
  • Passed FE exam.
  • Civil 3D Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in all aspects of site design including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management and erosion and sedimentation control.
  • Familiarity with current codes, design guidelines, and stormwater management practices.
Preferred:
  • PE or EIT.
  • Experience with commercial projects

Job order details: 
Candidate needs to be a true designer and able to run commercial land development projects fairly independently.

95% of the civil work they do is commercial "big box". For example, they are currently working on a warehouse project that is on 168 acres of land.

Most important is that they have the 4 or more years of experience with the understanding of how land development projects operate start to finish. They will still train on different aspects of the job because they know candidates may not have knowledge of everything but eventually, they will be working on their own projects.

Sponsorship: No
Pay range: $30/hour -$48/hour ($63,000 - $100,000 depending on experience and level of licensure)
Term of assignment: 6 months temp to perm
Pay method when direct: Salary
Location of job: Greensboro, NC
Hours and shift: Monday to Friday, 8AM – 5PM
Work from home: No (not to start, maybe down the line)
Working remote: No
Overtime expected: Yes, 5-10 hour per week
Travel: possible, light local travel to a site but not often
Work attire: Business Casual
