We have an immediate need for a CNC Programmer in the Meriden, CT area. This is a 6 month, contract-to-direct opportunity.
Pay is estimated at $38-40/HR.

Job description:
- Analyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates, according to knowledge of machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities.
- Determines reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
- Computes angular and linear dimensions, radius and curvatures, and outline sequence of operations required to machine part.
- Prepares geometric layout on computer-assisted drafting software to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
- Designs fixturing for new parts
- Writes instruction sheet and cutter list to guide setup and operation of machine.
- Writes CNC programs for lathes
- US Citizen
- Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient programing experience on VTL, Lathe machines using Mastercam, Inplot or NX software,be able to set-up first pcs on machine and release to production.
- At least 5 years manufacturing related experience
- GD&T knowledge required
- CNC Programming Experience with NX

Nick was born and raised in the Rochester, New York area. In the early summer of 1998, after earning his BA in Communications from SUNY Oswego, he decided to take a 16 hour road trip to Atlanta, GA and see what all the fuss was about. Fast forward to 2020, Nick still resides in the Metro Atlanta area. NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves and homemade sweet tea may have had a slight influence on his decision to stay.
Nick has found the staffing industry to be a good match for his personality type. He gets paid to talk on the phone, take clients out to lunch and feels a true sense of pride when he can provide a viable solution to his client’s needs. He is excited to be a part of the Selectek family and enjoys the company of his co-workers.
When not in the office, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, playing in a Rec Soccer league and playing a few video games here and there.
