CNC Machining Parts Coordinator career opportunity!

Location: Lake Forest, IL 60045
Pay: ~ +/- $30--$40/hr | ~ +/- $60k--$80k (Negotiable, based on experience)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM CST

Position Overview:
We are looking for a CNC Machining Parts Coordinator with hands-on machine shop experience to oversee parts sourcing, vendor coordination, and production decisions. You’ll help determine whether parts are produced in-house or outsourced and manage pricing, delivery, and ERP data entry. Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project Managers to prioritize quotes for machined parts
  • Source quotes from machine shops based on project needs (pricing, delivery)
  • Input and maintain part manufacturing processes in the ERP system
  • Coordinate vendor deliveries and track parts for project assembly
  • Manage spare part orders and close work orders upon project completion
  • Build long-term vendor relationships for repeat business
  • Resolve print and tolerance questions with vendors
  • Work closely with the Production team to meet customer expectations
  • Perform job costing and maintain accurate project parts records

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a machine shop (CNC or similar experience preferred)
  • Strong ERP system knowledge (Global Shop or equivalent preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills for team and vendor collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree
  • Experience with Global Shop ERP
