Job Description

Building Telecom Systems Engineer to work closely with Strang’s Integra, various professionals, vendors, consultants, contractors, and clients to deliver technology services for different exciting project types. Working under the direction of a Department Direct and collaborating with Project Managers, you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design and develop management skills to work with large and small teams. You may be assisted by other technology technicians when necessary.

Required:
  • Degree in Engineering or education related to this field of expeshortlys of related work experience 
  • BICSI, RCDD certification preferred or willing to pursue shortly.
  • USGBC certifications desired 
  • Ability to work in a team with constant collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Communication skills (verbal, electronic, phone, technical writing).
  • Public speaking, listening, and people skills.
  • Advanced reading, math, science, and accounting skills.
  • Organizational skills and team management.
  • Experience in leading meetings, developing agendas, and recording minutes.
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and regulatory standards.
  • Graphic communication and creative design.
  • Technology calculations.
  • Technology system design, feasibility studies, and probable cost estimates.
  • Familiar with Wisconsin DFDM standards and the NFPA 70.
  • Knowledgeable and current with BISCI and TIA/EIA standards 
Required Software Proficiencies Include: 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Revit 
  • Bluebeam
  • Software programs associated with low voltage system sizing and design.
Desirable / Secondary Software Proficiencies Include: 
  • AutoCAD, Ekahau Wi-Fi mapping, Enscape, Clash Detection, Speclink, or Virtual Reality (VR)
  • Building Information Model - BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud - ACC
  • Project Management Software
Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and Document Low Voltage Building Systems using an integrated and collaborative approach alongside architects, interior designers, engineers, and clients. 
  • Produce system drawings and specifications for all design phases, from pre-design to construction administration.
  • Possesses leadership experience and the ability to train future engineers and designers in designing and modeling low-voltage systems.
  • Design telecommunication systems, including optical fiber outside plant design, copper voice backbone cabling, telecommunications room layout, data center design, main telecommunications equipment room layout, grounding, and product selection.
  • Design of Voice over Internet Protocol systems and Wireless Access Point layouts, Sound Masking solutions for spaces, electronic access control devise, and coordination with Door Hardware. 
  • Design layout of Video Surveillance Cameras. 
  • Design of Mass Communication and Area of Rescue Systems.
  • Design of Public Address Systems, Building Clock Systems.
  • Experience developing low-voltage design guidelines and details specific to a project or system.
  • Assist with construction administration, including working with contractors, site visits, and observation reports. 
  • Client Care and Communication includes communicating with the Owner’s construction representative and preparing them to order services from Internet Service Providers. 
  • Quality control and ownership of work performed and design documents created.
Pay Rate:
  • $36/hr. - $40/hr.
Shift and Hours:
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8 AM- 5 PM
  • Work from Home
