Job Opportunity: BIM/VDC Support Technician
Location: Smyrna, GA (Contract-to-Hire)

We are seeking a BIM/VDC Support Technician for a small but growing plumbing shop in Smyrna, GA. This contract-to-hire role will be responsible for managing BIM/VDC processes, ensuring accurate project setup, and supporting both prefabrication and field installation teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up Revit projects thoroughly and accurately.
  • Navigate architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing drawings to assist in model setup.
  • Ensure project databases are accurate and up to date.
  • Create and maintain project-specific BIM families and ITMs.
  • Manage and update software licenses for BIM and related tools.
  • Collaborate with Trimble Field Technicians for pre-pour verifications.
  • Support the detailing team in converting Revit content to FAB-MEP.
  • Develop and modify prefabrication and material reports.
  • Produce 2D and 3D plumbing drawings to aid field installation.
  • Oversee electronic file management on FTP sites as needed.
  • Assist with shop drawings and ensure field installation efficiency.
  • Comply with company policies and industry standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of BIM/VDC experience with a mechanical/plumbing contractor.
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry.
  • Experience with Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD MEP, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents independently.
  • Construction administration experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and proficiency in e-file management.
  • Familiarity with clash detection in Navisworks and the creation of appearance profilers.
