Position: BIM/VDC Support Technician
Location: Smyrna, GA
Type: Contract-to-Hire

About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a BIM/VDC Support Technician to join our plumbing firm in Smyrna, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up new projects, configuring databases, creating and managing families/ITMs, maintaining software licenses, and developing/modifying prefabrication spools and material reports. You'll also be tasked with generating layout point exports and ensuring that all aspects of the BIM/VDC processes are executed with precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up new projects and configure databases.
  • Create and maintain Families/ITMs for BIM projects.
  • Manage software and add-in licenses, ensuring they are up to date.
  • Develop and modify prefabrication spools and material reports.
  • Generate layout point exports for construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with project BIM standards through proficient e-file management.
  • Utilize Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD MEP, and Bluebeam for project execution.
  • Conduct clash detection, manage appearance profilers, and handle other necessary Navisworks settings.
  • Read and interpret construction and design documents independently.
  • Handle construction administration tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain organized records and archive technical data effectively.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of BIM/VDC experience with a Mechanical/Plumbing Contractor.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD MEP, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Advanced skills in Autodesk Navisworks, including clash detection and appearance profiling.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing technical data.
  • Ability to interpret construction and design documents without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer-Aided Drafting, or a related field.
  • Field experience in plumbing.
  • Proficient in file management and Bluebeam.
