Job Description

Selectek is looking for a BIM/VDC Support Technician to be responsible for new project set up, database configuration, Family/ITM creation, maintaining/updating software/add-in licenses, developing/modifying prefabrication spools, material reports and generating layout point export.


Required:
  • 5+ years demonstrated BIM/VDC experience working for a Mechanical / Plumbing
  • Contractor utilizing skills listed herein.
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Aided Drafting, or related field a plus.
  • Plumbing field experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the following software: Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD MEP, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office programs. Advanced knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction and design documents without assistance.
  • Construction administration experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Windows Platforms.
  • Above average organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam and file management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Proficient with e-file management per project BIM standards.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Navisworks including development and management of clash detection, creation of appearance profilers and other necessary options editor settings.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Thorough, precise, and complete Revit project set up.
  • Navigate construction documents (architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical floor plans, section and elevations) to assist in preparation of project model set-up.
  • Work with the Project Management assuring that the project database is correct and complete at project set up.
  • Family / ITM creation & maintenance as needed.
  • Maintaining and updating BIM software / add-in licenses.
  • Collaborate with Trimble Field Tech’s. with daily check-ins and pre-pour as-built
verifications.
  • Assist BIM/VDC Detailing Team with conversion of Native Revit content to FAB-MEP.
  • Assist in developing and modifying prefabrication and material reports when needed.
  • Assist in the production of shop drawings and other details needed to assist in fabrication shop and field installation efficiencies.
  • Assist with the production of 2D and 3D Plumbing drawings and details needed to support efficient field installations with other sub-contractor trades.
  • FTP site electronic file management when needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Comply with all company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Pay Range: $33.65/hr. - $40.87/hr. ($70,000 - $85,000 when direct – possible to go higher depending on education and experience)
Pay Method when direct: Salary
Term of assignment: 6 months contract to hire
Location of Job: Smyrna, GA (30082)
Hours & Shift: Monday - Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
