Job Description

BIM Coordinator – Electrical Systems
Butler, WI (On-site | Prefabrication Division)

We’re seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to lead the digital design and coordination of electrical systems for a variety of large-scale industrial and commercial projects. This role is integral to connecting design, engineering, and field execution through precise 3D modeling, coordination, and collaboration with multiple trades.

As the BIM Coordinator, you’ll serve as the key link between design engineering, field operations, and subcontractors—ensuring electrical systems are fully coordinated, constructible, and aligned with overall project goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update 3D Revit models of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, conduit, cable tray, panelboards, switchgear, etc.).
  • Perform clash detection and coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines using Navisworks or similar tools.
  • Integrate field conditions and feedback into as-built model revisions.
  • Produce fabrication and installation drawings, including shop drawings, splice diagrams, and prefabrication layouts.
  • Maintain and enforce BIM standards, model structures, templates, and workflows.
  • Lead or participate in coordination meetings and present models to project stakeholders.
  • Perform QA/QC on models and deliverables before field or client release.
  • Support and mentor less experienced modelers and designers.
  • Collaborate with prefabrication teams to support modular assemblies and off-site fabrication.
  • Stay up to date with emerging BIM tools, workflows, and cloud collaboration platforms.

Required Qualifications
  • 3–7 years of BIM coordination or modeling experience, ideally focused on electrical or MEP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (Electrical/MEP environment) and Navisworks (or equivalent clash detection software).
  • Strong understanding of electrical system design and field installation practices.
  • Excellent spatial reasoning, attention to detail, and visualization skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), model versioning, and shared parameters.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn new technologies and workflows.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with prefabrication or modular construction.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk BIM 360 / Construction Cloud, BIMcollab, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to ISO 19650 or other BIM standards/frameworks.
  • Previous experience with electrical contracting or large-scale commercial/industrial projects.
  • Experience integrating BIM with estimating or material take-off workflows.

Why Join
  • Work in a new, state-of-the-art BIM workspace focused on digital innovation and prefabrication.
  • Be part of a company that values collaboration, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive compensation with PTO, paid holidays, and long-term growth potential.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking, employee-owned organization.
