Job Description

A BIM Coordinator to lead the digital design and coordination of electrical systems across projects. You will manage the 3D models, resolve clashes, coordinate with other trades, and deliver fabrication/installation documentation for field execution. You will act as a bridge between engineering/design, field operations, and subcontractors to ensure that the electrical design is executable, efficient, and aligned with project goals.

Required:
  • 3+ to 7+ years of experience in BIM coordination or modeling, ideally with specialization in electrical or MEP systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Revit (Electrical / MEP environment), Navisworks (or equivalent clash detection tools), and related BIM tools.
  • Understanding of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, conduit/cable tray, panelboards, switchgear, etc.) and how they are installed in the field.
  • Strong spatial reasoning, 3D modeling, and visual coordination capabilities.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently under deadline pressure.
  • Problem solver mindset, especially for resolving coordination conflicts or constructability challenges.
  • Familiarity with BIM execution plans (BEP), shared parameters, model versioning, and project protocols.
  • Self motivated, continuous learner attitude.
Preferred:
  • Experience with prefabrication and modular construction methods.
  • Experience with cloud collaboration platforms (Autodesk BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIMcollab, etc.)
  • Exposure to ISO 19650 or other BIM standards / frameworks.
  • Previous experience in electrical contracting or industrial/commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience in material take-offs or integration with estimating workflows.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Create, maintain, and update 3D Revit models of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, conduit, cable tray, panelboards, switchgear, etc.
  • Conduct clash detection and coordinate models with architectural, structural, HVAC/MEP, plumbing, and other trade disciplines.
  • Incorporate field conditions and jobsite feedback into models, and update as-built model revisions.
  • Generate fabrication/shop drawings, splice diagrams, installation layouts, and prefabrication details.
  • Enforce and continuously improve BIM standards, templates, families, shared parameters, naming conventions, model structure, and workflows.
  • Oversee model deliverables to ensure compliance with contract requirements, client BIM protocols, and internal standards.
  • Lead or participate in BIM/coordination meetings; present models, document issues, follow up on action items.
  • Perform QA/QC of models and drawing deliverables before issuance to field or clients.
  • Assist in development/maintenance of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for projects; monitor adherence.
  • Provide support and mentorship/training to less experienced modelers or technicians.
  • Coordinate with prefabrication/fabrication teams to enable modular assemblies, rack builds, or off-site fabrication.
  • Interface with project managers, design engineers, architects, general contractors, and other trade BIM teams.
  • Keep current with emerging BIM tools, workflows, cloud platforms, and industry best practices; recommend process improvements.
Pay Range: $28.85/hr. - $38.46/hr. ($60k/yr. - $80k/yr.)
