Our client is seeking a full-time BIM Coordinator to join their team in either Waltham, MA or Andover, MA. This role involves completing project design tasks with the guidance and support of experienced personnel. You will utilize your skills in BIM coordination and clash resolution for complex HVAC, plumbing, and Fire Protection projects.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience
- Strong interest and understanding of mechanical systems, relevant regulations, and codes
- Proficient in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) and Trimble software and equipment
- Familiarity with plumbing and NFPA codes
- Knowledge of the process from pre-construction to final build, including BIM coordination, prefabrication, and service
- Ability to document work effectively and understand work structures and processes
- Understanding of the fabrication process and ability to produce accurate drawings
- Time management skills across multiple projects
- Awareness of how model design impacts cost and safety
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, manipulate, and maintain 3D models for projects during preconstruction and construction phases
- Review contract documents, identify issues, and develop solutions in coordination with the Project Management team
- Attend coordination and project meetings, providing status updates
- Draw systems to specification and code requirements; provide information to the Project Management team for RFI submittals
- Run clash detection, document clashes, and track through clash reports
- Review Revit models and make/request changes as necessary
- Produce detailed drawings per SOPs, considering the needs of the field
- Communicate effectively with the Project Management team and other coordinators
- Update Manufacturing when coordination is complete and ready for fabrication; upload to Procore
- Manage overall BIM execution and the development of coordination drawings for the project
- Seek more efficient layouts of piping systems during modeling
- Work with the PM Team to develop coordination schedules and address any issues or concerns
- Collaborate with Foremen to answer layout questions and provide field support
- Identify required maintenance and access zones for equipment, valves, or service access points
- Ensure hangers are located and coordinated with other trades
- Mentor, develop, and coach direct reports and team members
