Job Description

Selectek is seeking a skilled PLC & HMI Programmer to design, develop, and commission control systems for municipal water and wastewater SCADA systems. This role involves programming PLCs and HMIs, commissioning control and communication systems, and collaborating with customers throughout project phases. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop PLC and HMI code for municipal SCADA systems using platforms such as Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500/5000, Modicon, Siemens S7, GE PAC Systems, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, Cimplicity, and Intellution.
  • Commission control systems, including instrumentation and motor control devices.
  • Configure and deploy communication networks, including fiber optic, radio telemetry, and broadband.
  • Manage project documentation according to company standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout design, construction, and aftermarket support.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • 2+ years of programming experience in PLC and/or HMI development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Travel Requirements:
  • 50% non-overnight travel within Iowa.
  • 20% overnight travel within the Midwest.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Associate’s degree in Automation or a related field.
  • Experience in Information Technology.
Pay Rate: $70,000 - $130,000
