Associate Electrical Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, CA 
Pay Range: $110,000 – $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Associate Electrical Engineer to support the design, implementation, and commissioning of advanced Life Safety and chemical distribution systems for high-tech facilities in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. You'll play a key role in integrating sensors, control panels, and gas monitoring technologies into mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret project documents, proposals, and technical specifications to design:

  • Toxic & flammable gas monitoring systems

  • Chemical distribution and waste collection systems

  • Electrical power systems

  • Create detailed AutoCAD drawings:

  • Device layouts on architectural plans

  • Block and wiring diagrams

  • Perform engineering calculations and select equipment for PLC-based systems.

  • Ensure designs comply with:

  • CA Fire Code

  • CA & National Electrical Code

  • Toxic Gas Ordinance

  • Cl.I, Div.2 area standards

  • Oversee or assist in:

  • Programming, startup, and commissioning of PLC systems

  • On-site installation coordination and integration

  • Final inspections and city approvals

  • End-user training and post-installation support

  • Support Project Managers in:

  • Project planning and execution

  • Proposal development

  • Cross-discipline coordination
  • Contractor and field team communication
  • Participate in City Inspections and assist with field activities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities construction or industrial systems engineering

  • Strong understanding of applicable building codes and safety standards

  • Proficient with:

  • AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • PLC programming and HMI development (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
