Overview:
Selectek is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Production Manager to support day-to-day operations at a modern Waste-to-Energy facility located in Conyers, GA. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant plant performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in industrial plant operations, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing daily plant operations including fuel handling, combustion systems, steam generation, emissions control, and auxiliary equipment

  • Support implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across the operations team

  • Monitor plant metrics and assist with identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and uptime

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

  • Provide supervision, support, and mentorship to plant operators and technicians

  • Coordinate maintenance activities in collaboration with the maintenance department

  • Troubleshoot process or equipment issues and support root cause analysis

  • Assist with preparation of reports and data for planning and budgeting

  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on sustainability and performance

  • Facilitate coordination between operations and other departments including Maintenance, HR, and Procurement

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field (preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial operations (waste-to-energy, utilities, manufacturing, or power generation preferred)

  • Familiarity with combustion technologies, boilers, and power generation systems

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and related safety/environmental regulations

  • Demonstrated leadership and team coordination experience

  • Proficiency in plant monitoring systems, reporting tools, and general computer applications

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Details:

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (with occasional overtime as needed)

  • Travel: None

  • Work Attire: Industrial setting (jeans and steel-toed shoes required)

  • Incentives: Eligible for monthly and quarterly bonuses based on plant performance
