We have an immediate need for an Architectural Designer in the Akron, OH area. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Base salary is estimated at $50-75K, dependent on relevant experienceÂ

Job Description:
- Prepares design layouts in compliance with architectural design and applicable code requirements that consider constructability, completeness and presentation.
- Code reviews related to industrial settings  Â
- Industrial building/office/laboratory layouts
- Assist with construction cost estimating, building programming/layouts.
- Vocational or 2-year Associate Degree in Drafting, Architecture-Related Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent level of experience.
- 2-8 years of experience in the drafting of architectural plans and details.
- Ability to develop standard design layouts that consider and incorporate requirements from other engineering disciplines to create a coordinated, unified design.
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the architectural field.Â
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to plan ahead and conceptualize; capable of recognizing discrepancies with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain data from field observations or existing documents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic field measuring for determination of architectural building elements using laser distance measurer and/or tape measure; familiarity with Google Earth, Navisworks, point-cloud models and 360 degree cameras, or willingness to learn; developing existing building layouts.

Nick was born and raised in the Rochester, New York area. In the early summer of 1998, after earning his BA in Communications from SUNY Oswego, he decided to take a 16 hour road trip to Atlanta, GA and see what all the fuss was about. Fast forward to 2020, Nick still resides in the Metro Atlanta area. NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves and homemade sweet tea may have had a slight influence on his decision to stay.
Nick has found the staffing industry to be a good match for his personality type. He gets paid to talk on the phone, take clients out to lunch and feels a true sense of pride when he can provide a viable solution to his client’s needs. He is excited to be a part of the Selectek family and enjoys the company of his co-workers.
When not in the office, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, playing in a Rec Soccer league and playing a few video games here and there.
