Job Description

Selectek is looking for an Application Engineer to work with the client and sales to team to manage product specifications.

Responsibilities:
•    Analyze and interpret customer requirements to provide accurate quotations to ensure profitable growth.
•    Identify project, customer, and market details necessary for determining quotation strategies and competitive strengths and weaknesses.
•    Complete Proposals using established product templates and electronic filing methods.
•    Implement pricing guidelines as established by management.
•    Review Customer Purchase Orders for conflicts between quotation and order prior to order entry.
•    Generate order entry materials and clarify any special requirements.
•    Participate in conference calls with sales team, channel partners, and customers as needed.
•    Manage database of issued proposal statuses and competitive information.

Requirements:
•    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 
•    5+ years of relevant business experience strongly preferred
•    Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
•    Comfortable with Microsoft Office
•    Knowledge of industry standards specifications such as ANSI, IEEE, and IEC
•    Ability to read and interpret specifications, electrical drawings, symbols, and nomenclature
•    Comfort with software applications such as Work, Excel, PowerPoint and the creation of scripting and macros.

Job order details:   The client is looking for an Application Engineer with a BS degree.  This candidate needs to have a mechanical background to work with the inside sales team.  They are working with the client to ensure that the design and assembly process can be done per the customer’s specifications.  The candidate will use SolidWorks but can have Inventor or Solid Edge experience. The candidate will start at the beginning of the process to the finish product.

Pay range:  $85,000 - $90,000 plus a 5% bonus 
Term of assignment: Direct Hire
Location of job: Bessemer, AL 35022
Hours and shift:  7AM - 4:30PM CST
Work from home/remote:  no
Overtime expected: possible
Travel: Possible to local plants but very little
Work attire: Business Casual
